What's this?

“Make Your Mark provides a fantastic opportunity to get young people enthused about business. Enterprise is the life-blood of local communities throughout the UK playing a vital role in the lives of people. It is really important that we pass on the love of entrepreneurship to the next generation and the Make Your Mark campaign is a great way to do that.”

David Frost, Director-General of the British Chambers of Commerce

Women's Enterprise Day

'Without being part of Enterprise Week we may not have got the press coverage we did as a group. I'd encourage all groups to get involved - not only will you benefit from it as a person but you'll walk away from the event knowing you've done something positive for yourself and the nation too. Young people need something to catch their attention – Enterprise Week does that.’

Alliyah Dawud-Khatak, Founder, Divas Network

Building on the success of last year, Women's Enterprise Day 2007 will take place on Wednesday 14 November. More than 200 events on the theme of women's enterprise took place during Enterprise Week 2006, and this year we want there to be even more!

To encourage more young females to have ideas and make them happen, we will be celebrating the fantastic achievements of all the women and girls who have turned their ideas into reality. Let’s showcase these fabulous female entrepreneurs and provide young women with realistic role models to inspire them to make their mark!

Girls! Make Your Mark

In the UK the rate of women’s entrepreneurship is half that of men's, and in order to increase innovation and creativity in the UK marketplace, it is essential to grow the number of women-owned businesses.

Margaret Hodge MP, Kingly Court

The Make Your Mark campaign is responding to this obvious disparity between men and women, and have created a campaign called 'Girls! Make Your Mark'. It was launched on Women's Enterprise Day last year and has the backing of Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MP, Minister for the Industry and Regions.
